Architectural Projects / Family Summer House in Peloponnesus, Greece
A new individual extension of the previous project in Peloponnesus and the decision to retain the existing residence is taken both from an environmentally point of view and the need to preserve the memory of the owners. The new extension mediates a relationship between the existing house and the landscape in which it sits. Taking inspiration from the surrounding olive grove the original character of the building is enriched using a combination of traditional local building techniques and clean, modern lines. For its construction they were mostly used wood and rocks from the area. The overall experience begins and ends with a journey of discovery and architecturally choreographed views of the surrounding garden. The swimming pool works as a link between the two houses.
